My Dear Friends
In the next couple of hours
We will close the doors to this year and embrace 2015.
We have seen so much joys on these paths and shared some challenging moments
Yet stay in the glare of God's Love and know
He's got you covered.
See you in 2015

It's not you
At times
We are the ones stalling
We hear ourselves
Our fears wear cloaks
And we hang on to them like our shadows
We are the ones stalling
We hear ourselves
Our fears wear cloaks
And we hang on to them like our shadows

Oil for the road
As a kid reading the Biblical Parable of the wise and foolish virgins, I always wondered why the preparation for the night watch separated the group into foolish and wise. They were all virgins after all. So what made the difference? How much oil they carried - Yes Oil for the night, fuel for the journey, content for the mind, character for the struggle.

I am Gold
Preferences are the choices we all make. I prefer a blue top to any other colour and if I must make a choice, blue will win again and again. That is my preference, it's my choice; love it or hate it. Ever found yourself using similiar lines?

Changing Lanes
Switching gears has always been an act. The engineering behind it is awesome and the goal is to make the change seamless but effective. Indeed, tact in life is also defined by one's ability to actuate changes with minimal issues.
Lulu and Smiles
If you have ever been in pains or sorrow, the value placed on smiles will make more sense to you than anything else. That is because what we get when we see the other side of any situation is the wonders and beauty of that which is so effortlessly given.

That Loss
In the last couple of days, I got the shock of my life and I do think that is a beautiful platform to begin our story here again. Have you ever been in a situation where you lose what you always wanted. How did you cope? Was it easy? It must have been tumultuous and a difficult climb.

When You are Discouraged
Oftentimes we find ourselves in those situations when
nothing makes sense. Even now as you read this, it’s simply one of those many
epistles people write just to make you feel good. You are hurt and your heart
is heavy. These times and such scenario are not for words, yet it’s all that we
can offer - comforting thoughts.

Learning New Lines
Our lives can take a dive for worlds unknown when love goes wrong. It's a matter that drills into our very being and saps our strength. Work becomes torture, smiles are faked and life just comes to a standstill.

Annexing Indecision
Flowing from the challenge we face with taking a stand is the result that being undecided can create and make of us. The sum total of the altitude we can attain is a direct consequence of our attitude with the hard questions we must answer most times.
Fighting that Remark
Have you ever been in a situation where you have your
thoughts spread before you but you have to now assess your actions based on
what others feel? How did it feel to be under the surgical knife and be so hurt
when the operation ended? Not funny you would say. Yes indeed, the eyes of
others can be so penetrating and can so make you bare that you begin to wonder
what you were doing.

Little Things
World Changers
Once you have alternatives, your preservation in what your
goal is becomes diminished. It does not matter how far gone you are, it does
not matter the shade of obstacles you are facing. A winning mind is that one
that is focused on the goal.

The Lure
We often get carried away with the lure to greater heights
that we seem to forget that if we don’t own today, we can and may never even
reach our vision and dream. The lure to become what we see in our mind eye can
be so tempting that when we are faced with choices, we don’t think before we
make our choices.

My Many Excuses
I did not take my certification exam because my project
needs have been huge. I have had to work day in, day out to meet set target. I
have always wanted this sort of life and he was not fitting into the picture of
my life portrait, so he had to go, after all the expectation of the righteous
shall not be cut off. I am not at the same faith level with her, so you can
understand why she could tarry but I could not. I have always been like this,
so just understand this is who I am. Hmm! I am not born with a 'silver spoon',
otherwise he cannot best me. How I wish I was that handsome or this rich or
that popular, perhaps I could be her prince charming. Excuses!!! We are full of
them.
Why am I here?
Today's thoughts are with us when we find our life at those pits we cannot explain and yet know things ought and can be different. It's for you my friend when life seems to have closed in on you. These lines are for you as you walk through those questions that no one else but you can fathom.

When Support goes wrong
Our life is a simple combination of the real, absurd and
fake. Choosing from the options life throws at us is a serious dilemma we face
daily and most times, it leaves us wondering why life is a continuous iteration
of choices and choices. It is actually these choices that leaves us seeking for
support and find us providing succor to friends, family, colleague, acquaintances
and even strangers who come to us or we meet in the process of our sojourn.

Gridlocks
I was taking a walk a moment ago and I met this terrible gridlock. I was so happy I decided to make the short journey on foot. There was chaos everywhere, no one had the faint respect for who had the right of way. Everyone was in a mad rush to get somewhere and the traffic light was of no use.
Weathered by Storm
Ever wondered why things seem so difficult when we are close to a breakthrough. Whether it be work, marriage, exams, your relationship, that recalcitrant child - whatever? St Monica prayed for years for St Augustine her child - it must have been exhilarating for her. She stayed on her kneels

Love is not a Trade
Dear Friends,
Today we bring you our first Guest Writer. His message is apt but so thought provoking. In short, it's what you had call a paradigm shift. So why not sit back, relax and share in John Matu's 'Love is not a Trade'.

Suffering and Smiling
Every once in our lives, we encounter those ups and down
that we want to just go away. These times when we are at the lowest ebb of our
existence are not interesting times. Our spirit is broken, our strength is
sapped, and we are just out of depth. This discourse is actually centered on
being through all these and still keeping up appearances. It leaves me wondering
- Why?

Why Do We Kill Each Other?
I had a dream last night and it brought so much memories flooding back. Yet this dream made me stop to ponder - why do people fight over what a simple 'Sorry' could have sufficed. Or better still, why are we often mad over somethings we can live without.

When Everything Looks Bleak
Do you know the times we spend analyzing our challenges are often the times we deepen the problems. I know because I am in such a state. Never mind, I am okay, just some psycho analysis. Now imagine if I can channel that effort to something else? Is it possible?
I have Depth
My Line Manager once asked a colleague this question - You
want deep or you want wide? And then he proceeded to drill down on deep and
wide. Said he, " By deep you are an expert in your field of endeavor. That
way you are an authority, but mind you, you are opinionated and too set in your
ways". "Now for wide, your sphere of influence is vast and you are broad in
perspective". Challenge however is you lose the plot when the issues are
specific and profound.

Of Criticism, the man, his mind, his response
Each time I am faced with criticism, the response is often
not commensurate with the object of my reaction. Even at those times I presume
or make the impression of being affable and open to rebuke; truth is, it’s just
a facade, if not worse. Yet I criticize people and expect them to take it in
their strides.
