Fire in the Bones

There is fire in the bones. Everything that will take you to the place you desire is in your bones; what does your fire make you do? Perhaps the question should be "what waters have you poured over those flames?"

The Fuel of Your Hunger

When you are hungry, do you bother what food is or you just want to eat? Do you worry whether the container is fitting or the desire to quench the hunger takes over? Will you be so concerned about the spreading of the table or ensures that the dinning is put out for you to kill the pangs of hunger. How do you pour water over this fire?

The Right Track

If you ever got to a dead end while driving, you wouldn’t think to park your car there as you just arrived at a dead end. You would have to turn around and keep moving. It’s never too late to make a U-turn and get on the right track. In as much as you might not be sure the direction to head, take a moment, stop. Ask for directions; ask for help to guide along the way.

All in Time

"He hath made everything beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end." - Ecclesiastes 3:11(KJV).

MidWay

It’s been six months since we talk about FirePower (See Here) and we discussed the need for ‘Oil for the road’(Read It Here). Today, we open a new chapter to the running year and while we want to do a post mortem, we also want to enhance the gains of the year and push the frontiers. So its Mid-Year and I wonder if your light is still aglow. What has happened to the many resolutions, promises and agenda you set out to meet. Where are you on those important milestones? Have you finally beat your demons to submission or you are still on a managing streak. Perhaps it is a done deal - you have given up on trying.

The Simple from the Prudent

I used to want a simple life. A quiet and simple life; one that is not riddled with all the incontinence of life. I just wanted to be simple and understood.

Everything is Infectious

A drop of ink dropped in my glass of water and all of a sudden, all the purity of the water was gone. My friend's torchlight was all the light we had in pitch darkness and at that point it was more than all the light my eyes has ever seen. A little lie to all the effort I had made the other day caused me so much unease like I had lived a lie all day. Just like one smile from that little baby and the sparkle from the eyes was enough reason even in all my pain to find a reason to live and smile again. You see, everything in life is infectious.

Burning My Time Cart

Over the ages, the timeless nature of time has stayed faithful. For this reason, it has been seen in varied forms, modeled and pursued differently by every clime and race. Somehow, we all have something we have to do and without time limits, we will someday achieve them. So man has an albatross and its named time.

Finding Balance

I was in the cooking mode some days ago, so I set out to make some purchase at the market. One of the items I was buying needed to be weighed; so began the arduous task of me and the seller trying not to be outwitted. The task of course was more tedious as we neared the requested weight. Phew! That was some experience. We were looking for the balance that did not tilt in the other person's favour.

When Light Goes Bleak

Many a times what we did with the genuine intentions are spurn. How does it feel when you are not believed by those you hold most close to your heart? What happens when we look to others for understanding and we do not get the empathy we desire or expect? Yes, how do you feel when the light just walks away through the door and all you can do is watch helplessly!

Now & Always

Love has been so underrated

Many do not find its meaning all through life

Some will never know it is a harbinger of peace

Neither will others find it reverberates in truth

The fruit it bears are the services it prompts us to

The glow it summons is a story only our hearts can spell

Perhaps we need to pause and then take a breathe

When You Turn the Block

You know we never take anything serious until things go awry or at the precipice.

Every Start

A start is always a beginning marked out because it signifies different curves we have taken.

Use Your Relationships

I had a discourse with a colleague some few days ago and in the course of our discourse was brought to the realization that our last post here had a tinge of masculinity in it. I was alarmed! The beauty of that conversation was while I did not see some of those points initially, that relationship helped me see a part that was oblivious to me.

The Extra

Still in the wind of the New Year and working the lines of 2015, it occurred to me that we just had another year added to our previous count. Yes, 'addition’; ‘additional'; 'greater than usual' all of these qualifiers are just about 'EXTRA'. Whether drawn from the Medieval Latin origin where it was seen as meaning 'outside' or 'beyond' or within the English, French and German 17th Century adaptation from extraordinary - 'THE EXTRA' is just what it is - 'EXTRA'!

This Early?

Three days into the year and I am at a crossroad for my actions and inaction. I am so at a loss over how I can last the year if one is already falling so soon. This is not some hypothetical story, it's fluid and it's running. So what do you think is my problem?

FirePower

Okay, we are finally in the new year - Indeed 2015 is here. Now let's look at some peculiar issues - Every new year brings about changes, not changes in itself, but those we have devised as fundamental and we look to the new year as a basis or platform to begin delivering on these scores.
