The Real You

Ever wondered why you seem to be so strange to yourself? Have you woken up, only to discover that a new you is what you behold? Well! I have been shocked by this again and again until I realized that I evolve daily and that the "me" that stands today is different from the person I was yesterday.

So, it is true that the only significant change that you have between your today and yesterday is the added day; it is also a fact that the difference can be so clear that you do not anyone pointing them out. Yet, our lives daily is an unwrapping of our content and because no two days are exactly the same, we see a different world every day.

Now, it's not the evolution that happens to us that is of most interest to me, rather it is how we respond to the ever-changing world that we are and always will be that is really the basis of my thoughts - as in, what is our general approach to change. Does it scare us? Are we confused by them?  Do we simply take them as they come? Or we are just indifferent?

Shockingly, we do not pay attention to these or when we do, the noise that our world represents just blows the whole philosophical gamut away, still we must approach each new dawn with the vigour of one possessed to find out new truths, an open-minded consciousness that all we were yesterday may be the last of that version of us and that today holds the promise of a new us, a different response but above all - the same us in varied cloaks.

Let come to think of it, we may not always be faced with daunting challenges, but we will from time to time have to make a choice of the very little things that seek to draw from us, who the real us are.  And this is so because, life will always bear its fangs, not everything is as it seems, not until we see it from our own prisms. Will you pass that test today?

Nugget: The story others tell is for our mind eyes, we unravel their essence as we daily evolve.

  1. Change they say is constant, but what matters is how we respond to them.
