Do you remember the biblical story of Joseph? How he rose
from the prison to the palace - very exciting and interesting story. It is a
story of change. A story of a man who moved from being adorned in glorious
splendour (his coat of many colours) to the pit and then slavery, the prison
and a promotion to the palace as prime minister. Yes, change and huge leap and
yet, it was a 'Process'.
So, Joseph dreamt and the vision was made clear to him and
he rode that vision through a means of consistency. He sojourned even in
purpose not minding the pains and the tortuous means. He stayed focus on the
price, no wonder he could ask the chief butler to remember him, he saw purpose
in everything and wisely used his gifts to stay on course. Now have you
wondered why all through the process that Joseph went through, he did not lose
his 'saltiness' to sorrow or pain? He was too purpose driven to remember who
hurt him in the process. He sidestepped the opposition by seeing them as part
of the means and not as enemies. He lived the change and yet he was not fooled,
he could live through each day fulfilled because he understood that change is a
'Process' and not a sudden crank of the handle from 10mph to 75mph. He saw the
gradualness and focus rather on the journey than allow the environment subsume
him.
You know a process is a step-wise system of things - it’s
like a seed planted, it dies and in its death, it produces life. If after
planting the seed, we do not give it sustenance, yes it will die like every
seed planted, yet it will not give the required life. Our life is like that
when we sow in pains and often times this is exemplified by our struggles and
hard work - many times without much or anything to show for it. We must not get
carried afar by "how far we have not come"; nor allow the bitterness
or lack of appreciation of our process to get us off the chain. No, No! You
must always have it at the back of your mind, that once you break the chain,
you lose the process. And a belief system once lost requires even more energy
to restore it back to its former ways.
A process is a process, it is a step and it is a journey.
You do not just get there, you work to get there and the new life that comes at
the end is always rewarding. Still, do not forget that in this season that we
have preached 'unlearning', you must also remember that those around you and in
your life, will not suddenly catch on the fever of the change you are engaging
in. Do not assume that because you live the new life, they will just get it and
flow in it. You must give room to share the 'WHY' with them for people are not
necessarily against change, they simply need to understand why. So, on this
journey to your new place, keep assumptions away, try to communicate and you
are welcome to over-reach yourself here.
Friend, our walk through the maze of life is a process and
we get to our destination as a result of means. Make careful and deliberate
choices and stay focused on your purpose. It works every time.
Nugget: Every step in a process is a journey towards the
known and that known is 'RESULTs'.
