How brutal is Your Efficiency

Have you ever asked yourself if efficiency is what you need?

I was speaking with my niece and she said she thinks she needs 'Strong will'. She posits that with strong will she can reach efficiency. She went further to say that with strong will she can always push towards the ever changing efficiency with a strong will. I told her I tend to disagree and only agree to the extent that we all need a driver and at least she had picked on a driver. Again, as with any driver, they can push you to the brinks, but it takes more than these drivers to sustain those heights. And then, drivers are sinkers, they run on energy.

Yet I think that Efficiency is simply overrated. It’s overrated because; we always have a challenge with all instance of efficiency - i. e. 'The How to Measure'. It follows then that efficiency tilts more towards subjective elements for measuring progress, competence and success.

Let’s consider this, I can be very efficient, but because it is not focus on where the bottleneck resides, the effect of all my efficiency output grounds to noth. SO it is not about how brutal that efficiency was, it is how much it helps to unlock the bottleneck or optimize the weak link.

So we must not focus on being brutally efficient, rather our push must be to ride the bottleneck and maximize the process. So when next you face a challenge or need to close a round, find the constraint and optimize it; that is STRATEGY, it is the efficiency that creates solutions.
So forget about the measure of efficiency you are returning, look for how much solutions you are providing.
Nugget: Identify the eye of the needle, and then you can hit the bull's eye
