Moments We Walked Past

As the year quietly draws to a close, one thought weighs heavily on my heart: how much unconquered ground we often leave behind. Not because life was unfair, and certainly not because God failed us, but because many promises demand a response from us that we were unwilling, unprepared, or too comfortable to give.

Promises are rarely automatic. They are invitations that require action, courage, and sacrifice. Many dreams may not have taken shape this year. Some words spoken over our lives may not yet have found expression. This is not always due to delay or denial, but often because fulfilment requires intentional participation.

Assurance does not remove responsibility. Purpose must be pursued. Progress must be contended for. Fulfilment does not arrive simply because it was declared; it must be worked out. Growth is never passive.

Every day presents what I like to call destiny triggers. These are moments, decisions, and opportunities that appear ordinary but carry the power to redirect an entire life. Too often, we walk past them because they demand effort, risk, or sacrifice. Yet these very moments are gateways to the promises we desire.

Destiny is never forced. Choice is always involved. Advancement belongs to those willing to act when it matters most. Comfort and calling rarely coexist. Meaningful lives are shaped not by convenience, but by conviction.

Sometimes, the most defining decision is choosing between what feels safe and what gives life meaning. Growth often begins where comfort ends. In many cases, we must be willing to let go of something familiar to lay hold of something greater.

As this year ends and we look ahead, the prayer should not only be for new promises, but for the grace to recognise and respond to the moments that matter. May we no longer walk past the very doors meant to usher us into fulfilment.

Nugget: The future belongs to those who respond.
